Megan Keeping aiming to secure back to back wins at The Meadows

MEGAN Keeping will be out to score her second win at The Meadows on Saturday night when she contests a $12,000 Grade Five final over the 525 metre trip.

The daughter of Cosmic Rumble and Indigo Gem qualified for the final with a terrific victory last weekend – the 20th career win for Megan and her delighted bunch of owners.

Stepping well from box two, Megan worked hard to punch up and take the early lead and was too strong in the run to the line, clocking a handy 30.20 over the testing distance.

Co-trainer Kelly Bravo said she was very happy with the run which was Megan’s second win from her past three outings.

“I thought she was due to pinch a race in town and she went really good,” Bravo said.

“The track wasn’t overly fast – so the 30.20 wasn’t a bad run as the track was very heavy.

“She got out well last week but she still had to work hard to get a clear lead, so she did well to get through.”

Megan has drawn box one in the final this week against a tough field including the likes of Shima Song (box four), Time For Money (box five), Dyna Juggler (box six) and Demon Bale (box seven).

Kelly said that, while it was a step up in grade, Megan should be right in the mix if she can step well like she normally does.

“There are a couple of strong dogs in this week’s race, but she has drawn well and she is a pretty reliable beginner so hopefully she can get out and at least then they will have to catch her.”

In further Race A Chaser Syndications news, the talented Noakis Girl has returned to free galloping and is only about a week away from trialling, while Jaguara is expected to have one final trial next week before resuming for the first time since injuring his hock at The Meadows last November.

Megan Keeping will step from box one in race six at The Meadows on Saturday night, with the event scheduled to jump at 9:57pm AEDT.
