Race A Chaser’s Megan Keeping will return to Maitland this week, attempting a step up in distance to the 450m.
After finishing second in the Betezy 4/5th grade final over 400m, beaten by a head in 22.49, trainer Jason Mackay was pleased with her effort from box eight.
“She put in an incorrect stride as they started to turn and that hurt her momentum.”
“She only got beat a lick in fast time, so the run was good.”
Mackay now plans to step the daughter of Cosmic Rumble and Indigo Gem up in distance, with this Thursday’s test at Maitland, evident if she can tackle the two turn circuits successfully.
“We will see how she goes this week in a 450 and hopefully step her up further after that.”
The box draw for Maitland is scheduled to be released around lunchtime on Monday.
