Megan Keeping will have her first start over the 450m this afternoon at Maitland, in a 5th grade event scheduled to jump at 4.47pm EDST.
After finishing second by a head in a 4/5th grade final event over 400m last week in a fast time of 22.49, trainer Jason Mackay is hopeful she can go one better today.
“She didn’t begin great last week and put in an incorrect stride and that cost her.”
“I’ve done some box work with her this week and she’s injury-free and feeling good.”
“I’m hoping she gets a good start from box three today and can record a good time, before I decide where she goes next week.”
Megan was described by Greyhound Racing New South Wales analysts’ as:
“Excellent beginner with speed to burn and the rise in trip should see her charge to the front and really give rivals something to gun down. One to beat.”
Megan will exit from box three in race three.
