Megan Keeping made a successful debut at Maitland today, clocking a sizzling time of 22.31, the best of the day.
Stepping out over the 400m in a heat of the New Years Gift for 4/5th grade greyhounds, Megan started at short odds of $1.80 with most betting agencies. Jumping well from box seven, the Jason Mackay trained chaser quickly sped to the lead at the turn, careering away up the straight to score by five and a half lengths over second placegetter Foxy Rogan. Megan’s sectionals were brilliant, with a second split of 15.72 and a flying run home of 6.59.
The daughter of Cosmic Rumble and Indigo Gem recorded her sixth career win today from start number thirteen and notched up her fifth best of the day time.
Megan’s next assignment will be the New Years Gift Final at Maitland next Thursday afternoon over 400m, with $1,500 presented to winning connections.
