EVER dreamed of owning a greyhound but don’t want to risk wasting your money on a pup which may or may not make the track? Well here is your chance to buy into a proven chaser which is currently in work and in the kennels of a multiple Group 1 winning trainer.
Megan Keeping is a well-bred daughter of Cosmic Rumble and Indigo Gem and is being trained in Victoria by husband and wife duo Kelly and Brett Bravo.
The Bravos have trained many top class chasers including Kilty Lad (WON 2011 Group 1 Adelaide Cup), Kayda Shae (WON 2015 Group 2 Cyril Rowe Cup, 2015 Group 2 Shootout), Secret Spell (WON 2015 Group 1 Hume Cup, FINALIST 2015 Group 1 Melbourne Cup) and Unlawful Entry (WON 2015 Group 2 Great Chase).
Megan has had 39 starts for 17 wins (nine in best of day (BOD) time) and 11 minor placings including some slick victories at Dubbo in 18.15 BOD (318 metres), Bendigo in 23.99 BOD (430 metres), Warragul in 22.82 BOD (400 metres), Shepparton in 22.15 BOD (390 metres), The Gardens in 22.67 BOD (400 metres), Maitland in 22.30 BOD, 22.31 BOD and 22.29 (400 metres), Maitland in 25.09 BOD (450 metres), Wentworth Park in 30.04, 30.15 (520 metres).
Megan was formerly trained in NSW by leading conditioner Jason Mackay and under his care made a semi final of the 2015 Group 1 National Futurity at Wentworth Park. Megan was defeated in her semi by the eventual series winner, Zipping Midge.
Megan also made the final of the Gold Collar at Maitland over the 400 metre sprint, running a scintillating 22.29 to qualify for the feature.
After a spell during the middle of the year, the decision was made to send Megan to Victoria in order to chase the bigger prize money packets on offer. Since resuming in September she has won four races from limited starts, two of which have been in BOD times.
To date, Megan has also amassed $32,355 in career earnings and, barring injury, we expect her to add to this figure considerably in the coming months.
Megan is racing in terrific form at present having won or placed in 10 of her past 11 starts in Victoria including a terrific last start win at Warrnambool in 25.41 over 450 metres.
She is engaged to run at Warrnambool on Thursday night (December 3) and has drawn box one in race seven over the 390 metre sprint.
After her time on the track comes to an end, Syndicate Members will also have a share in her future career as a brood bitch. With terrific early speed and a tenacious temperament, Megan could prove to be invaluable in the breeding barn.
With an outcross in her breeding through Cosmic Rumble, Megan’s owners will have plenty of options to consider when it comes time to choose a sire.
Megan Keeping races under the ownership of the Race A Chaser Keeping Syndicate and we have 10% available for purchase.
